Kobo usually ties their gift card bonus offers to a holiday, and right now it’s Black Friday. Not totally sure that’s a “holiday”, but it seems to be a good enough excuse for a bonus gift card offer, and that’s a good thing!
The bonus offers vary – sometimes $10 on $60, or even $10 on $70. But this one, which is available through Dec 4, 2025, is $10 on $50, which is a pretty good deal, and equal to the best I’ve seen in the last couple of years. If memory serves, Kobo has typically offered $10 on $50 for (US) Mother’s Day, and for Black Friday/Christmas, but for other holidays it has been $10 on either $60 or $70.

It’s also important to note that the $10 or £10 bonus gift card comes to you in a separate email a few days later. I was a bit skeptical at first, but I have ordered gift cards from Kobo like this several times now, and my bonus has always come through, usually shortly after the end of the promotion. In this case, though, since the end of the promotion is quite a ways away, I don’t know if the bonus card might arrive sooner – you’ll just have to keep an eye on your email.
