Rosemary Stevens wrote a number of Regency romances in the 1990s, and then she crossed over and wrote four historical mysteries in the early 2000s, also set in the Regency period, featuring Beau Brummel as the protagonist. She won an Agatha Award for Best First Novel for the first book in that series, Death on a Silver Tray. I have fond, if slightly vague (it was twenty-plus years ago, after all), memories of all four. And, right now, they are all on sale in the US ($0.99 each) and UK (£0.77 each). Oh yeah, and the three other titles are: The Tainted Snuff Box, The Bloodied Cravat, and Murder in the Pleasure Gardens.
