Free Book Fridays by Joffe Books

Joffe Books seem to be making a thing of “Free Book Fridays”…

Today’s free book is Murder, Bed and Breakfast by Jean G Goodhind, which was (per SYKM) originally published in 2007 as Something in the Blood.

The email definitely mentions “Free Book Friday”, but the email also mentions “enjoying it over the weekend”, so not totally sure how long it will be available for free. Or whose time zone this is in. But it’s definitely free right now at both Kindle US and UK…

  1. Another Joffe Books freebie, but this time, not on Friday…

The Jenny Starling Mysteries, Books 1 – 4, by Faith Martin, previously writing as Joyce Cato, is pretty much what is says it is, and it’s free right now at Kindle US and UK.

Books include: The Birthday Mystery, The Winter Mystery, The Riverboat Mystery, and The Castle Mystery – which appear to be updated titles for Birthdays Can Be Murder, A Fatal Fall of Snow, Dying for a Cruise, and The Invisible Murder

  2. Joffe Books free Friday deal, which seems to last through the weekend most of the time, appears to be an omnibus of the first five Hillary Greene books by Faith Martin, free right now at Kindle US and UK. (I didn’t get an email about it this time, but this seems likely to be it…) I haven’t read any of these, but did read a couple of books in one of Martin’s other series, written under a pen name, and they were okay. But WTH, these are free, so if you don’t like them, you can just delete!

The books in the omnibus are: Murder on the Oxford Canal, Murder at the University, Murder of the Bride, Murder in the Village, and Murder in the Family. And it’s worth noting that these were all originally published with different titles: A Narrow Escape, On the Straight and Narrow, Narrow Is the Way, By a Narrow Majority, and Through a Narrow Door. But since the omnibus is free, it doesn’t matter so much if you duplicate. Still, just so you know…

  3. And I guess I was wrong about Joffe’s Free Friday book just above, because I just found the email in my spam, and the “official” free book this week is Catherine Moloney’s Crime in the Choir, which is the first in her Detective Markham series. And FYI, per the blurb, this was originally published as A Walking Shadow – I have no idea why Joffe feels the compulsion to change so many titles. Sigh!

  4. Joffe’s free book Friday this week is not one, but two collections of mysteries. And, even though it’s “free book Friday”, it seems to last through the weekend, so these are still free, even though I’m late posting…

contains: The Vicarage Murder (apa An Unholy Mess), The Flower Show Murder (apa An Unholy Whiff of Death), and The Manor House Murder (An Unholy Shame)

  6. Two Joffe free books this Friday – one looks kind of thriller-ish and one says it’s a police procedural. (You can probably guess which is which, just from the titles…😁)

Shannon’s Gamble, by Paul Bennett, is the seventh in the Nick Shannon series

  7. Joffe’s Free Book Friday today includes two books: one mystery, and one romance. In the past, the “Friday” free book has often been free through the weekend, not just Friday, but last week that was not the case. (Darn!) So I’m not sure about this weekend, so best to just grab either or both now if you want them…

Clerical Errors is the first in DM Greenwood’s Theodora Braithwaite mystery series. It’s free at Kindle US and UK.
