How can you go wrong? Douglas Adams’ classic The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy is on sale today for £0.99 as part of today’s Kindle UK Daily Deal. This says it’s the “42nd Anniversary Edition”, and thus includes “exclusive bonus material from the Douglas Adams archives, and an introduction by former Doctor Who showrunner, Russell T Davies”. And although sometimes e-books don’t have the bonus material that’s in the print editions, I checked the sample and there is, in fact, an intro by Davies, so I’m willing to believe them on the rest.
If you haven’t read it, just buy it at this great price…and bring your towel…

P.S. I guess there is one way you could go wrong – there is an omnibus of five Douglas Adams titles, The Ultimate Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy, which has been on sale for as little as $3.99 in the past. So check carefully that you don’t have that before you buy this…
An “illustrated edition” of The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy is on sale for $2.99 in the US today. I looked at some of the illustrations in the Kindle sample and they are kind of cool, but YMMV as to whether it’s worth rebuying just for that if you already have it. But if you don’t have it, $2.99 is an okay price, and – bonus! – you get the illustrations. Please keep in mind that there is an omnibus edition of the whole series that has been on sale in the past, so check carefully before you buy!
