Gideon’s Fire is the seventh in the George Gideon series by John Creasey (writing as JJ Marric), which is IMO a great police procedural series. Per SYKM, it also won the 1962 Edgar Award for Best Mystery. And it’s on sale right now at Kindle US for only $0.60. Not just on sale at $0.99 – seriously it’s on sale for $0.60. Not sure how long this will last, so if you want it, grab it!

It’s not $0.60, but An Uncivilised Election, apa Gideon’s Vote, by John Creasey (writing as JJ Marric), is on sale for $2.99 at Kindle US and £2.11 at Kindle UK. This is the tenth title in Creasey’s George Gideon series. My handy-dandy trusty currency conversion website tells me that $2.99 and £2.11 are as nearly the same as makes no difference at all, so take your pick!
