Kill the Queen by Jennifer Estep sounds as if it might be a murder mystery, but it’s not. I do read a bit of fantasy/science fiction, and this is actually the first in Jennifer Estep’s recently completed Crown of Shards fantasy trilogy. I got hooked into reading this by the first two sentences in the sample: “The day of the royal massacre started out like any other. With me doing something completely, utterly useless.” And I then really enjoyed all three of the titles. The good news is that although the second and third titles are pretty expensive normally, they do go on sale from time to time, just in case you get hooked on the series like I did. So keep an eye out here on my blog and I’ll post them if I see them! They are also available as e-books at some libraries.
Capture the Crown is the first title in Jennifer Estep’s Gargoyle Queen series, which is a spin-off from her Crown of Shards series, which I quite liked. It has dropped to $2.99 at Kindle and Kobo US right now.
