My Side of the Mountain by Jean Craighead George was, per Wikipedia, a 1960 Newbery Honor Award winner. (Wikipedia indicates this means it was a runner-up.) And among the bazillions of books I’ve read I still remember this one quite vividly from when I was young. Oh, and in a vividly positive way 😊…I guess one could also remember a book vividly for how bad it was, and as I think about it, I do recall a few of those too…
