Queen Without a Crown by Fiona Buckley has dropped to $1.99 in the US

Fiona Buckley’s Ursula Blanchard series is one of my top five favorite mystery series. I love Ursula’s smarts and independence and resilience, and the historical background during Elizabeth I’s reign is really well done too. Now the ninth book in the series, Queen Without a Crown, has dropped to $1.99 at Kindle and Kobo US, and it’s discountable at Kobo US. The later titles in the series tend to bounce up and down in price fairly often, but never stay on sale for very long, so grab this one now (April 14, 2021) if you want it.

There is a fair amount of backstory by the time of this ninth title, but I think Buckley does a pretty good job of making sure you know what you need to know, so it could be read as a stand-alone. Sadly, most of the titles in this series tend to be pretty expensive most of the time, so if you like this one, that’s not conducive to being able to binge read the series – sigh! But keep an eye out here, and I’ll post new price drops in the comments if/when I see them.

  1. Queen Without a Crown by Fiona Buckley is $1.99 in the US again right now. The links in the OP are still good. Note that it’s discountable at Kobo US, where coupon code “Partners22” is still working (one book per checkout cart only) for 40% off, at least as of yesterday…

  2. Heretic’s Creed is the fourteenth Ursula Buckley title. It has dropped in price (various prices, some better than others) in the US and UK. Still a bit pricey, but most of the later books in this series don’t go on sale very often, and are very pricey when not on sale, so…

And also, this is one of my very favorite series!

Kindle US, $6.49, pretty expensive still – buy at Kobo with coupon if you can: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01M5FQOOZ
Kobo US, $6.99, but if you use “Partners22” for 40% off, and if you have the VIP discount, it can be as low as $3.39: https://www.kobo.com/us/en/ebook/heretic-s-creed-the-1
    Kindle UK, £3.99: https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B01M5FQOOZ

  3. There have been several fairly recent price drops on early titles in Fiona Buckley’s (pen name for Valerie Anand) Ursula Blanchard series, which is one of my really favorite historical series. But one whose titles are mostly very very expensive when not on sale – although with patience you can eventually get them all, in the US at least. (Several of the older ones seem not to be available in e-book in the UK.) All are $1.99 each, except the first, which is $2.99.
