I haven’t read any of the Inspector Ruiz books by James García Woods, but it turns out that James García Woods is a pen name for Alan Rustage, who mostly wrote mysteries under yet another pen name, Sally Spencer. (If this seems complicated, here’s a link to Rustage’s SYKM page, which explains all…) And I have read and enjoyed some of the Sally Spencer-authored series.
And the time and place (Madrid, at the beginning of the Spanish Civil War) for the Inspector Ruiz books sounds pretty interesting too. And it turns out that the third book in the series, The Fifth Column, is free right now at Kindle US and UK. And the first book, A Murder of No Consequence, is only $0.99/£0.99 right now too – so if you want to try the first one first, you can do that without spending a lot! And all four books in the series are KU, if you have that.
