The Sedleigh Hall Murder (originally published in 1980 as A Certain Blindness) is the first in the Eric Ward series by Roy Lewis. Per above, it’s free right now at Kindle US and UK. I haven’t read any of this series, so can’t offer an opinion. But WTH, it’s free, so you can try it, and just delete it if you don’t like it!
