Joseph Flynn started off as traditionallly published, but has been published by his own Stray Dog Press for quite a while. I have read all (I think) of his Jim McGill titles, most of his John Tall Wolf books, all of his Ron Ketchum books, and a few of his non-series books. I’ve liked all that I’ve read, except for a couple of the non-series books. Right now (March 10, 2021) two of his non-series titles are free at Kindle US and UK. I’ve read and liked one of them, haven’t read the other one.

    The President’s Henchman is the first in the Jim McGill series by Joseph Flynn. The first few titles in this series were conventionally published before Flynn created his own Stray Dog Press, about which you can make your own decision as to whether it is self-pub or not. I have, however, read and enjoyed almost all of the books in this series as well as some other books in spin-off series. Henchman is free right now at Kindle US and UK…

    Four Joseph Flynn books are free right now. Three of them are repeats from the OP or comments above, but I’m putting the links here again just to make it easy. Also, a lot (or all) of the Jim McGill books are KU, so if you like the first one and have a KU subscription, you can binge for free – or at least for your sunk cost…

    As I’ve mentioned before, I really like some of Flynn’s series (John Tall Wolf, Jim McGill, Ron Ketchum), but I haven’t been as enamored of his non-series stuff. But, of course, YMMV…

    Right now, Nailed, which is the first in Joseph Flynn’s Ron Ketchum series, is free at Kindle US and UK, and three other non-series titles are also free right now. As above, I’ve liked Flynn’s series stuff and have been a little “meh” on the non-series ones, but tastes vary, so here you go…
