CJ Cherryh is a Grand Master of the SFWA, and has won a bunch of awards along the way, including the Hugo Award (more than once), the Campbell Award, and the Locus Award. She has written more than 70 books, and right now you have a chance to get 38 of them for only $18 via Humble Bundle.
The way Humble Bundle works is that there is a top-level bundle – in this case, there are 38 books (!!!) in it. And you get all 38 for a payment of $18 or more. Then there are also a couple of lower levels available as well: for $10, you can get 9 books, or for $5 you get 3 books. Sadly, though, you don’t get to choose which books you’ll receive at these lower levels – Humble Bundle chooses for you. So you can’t cherry-pick just the 9 books you want, or the 3 books you need. Still, 38 books for $18 is a raving bargain, even if you already have several of them.
You can see more details about the various levels and books here on the Humble Bundle webpage, and, of course, you can buy the Bundle at that link too. The Bundle is available for almost three more days.
And one final thing (promise!) about Humble Bundle is that you also have an opportunity to pay a little bit more, and have the balance go to a charity of Humble Bundle’s choosing. You can always see the charity that will receive your donation in the bottom right corner of the webpage. Right now, for this bundle, the charity is the Book Industry Charitable Foundation.
The Cherryh Bundle appears to have been extended, since it’s now showing as available for almost 11 more days. So if you thought you missed it, you haven’t. At least not yet. Woo-hoo!
