As the webpage blurb mentions, A Caribbean Mystery introduces Mr. Rafiel, who will be central in the plot of Christie’s later book, Nemesis, which is one of my favorites of hers…

  1. Another holiday-themed mystery on sale, but possibly not the holiday you’re thinking of!

Hallowe’en Party is pretty near the end of Agatha Christie’s Hercule Poirot series. It seems to go on sale pretty much every October, although usually a little earlier in the month – Oct 29 is leaving it a little bit late IMO… It has dropped to $1.99 at Kindle and Kobo US.

  2. One of Christie’s best known titles, Death on the Nile, is £0.99 at Kindle UK today, as part of the Daily Deal. This is a movie tie-in, with the cover looking just like the billboards I’ve seen for the upcoming movie. (I’m usually not much on movies made from books I liked, but I did like the 1970s movie version, starring Peter Ustinov. I’ll have to see about this one, which is directed by Kenneth Branagh.)

In any case, here’s the link for the book: https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0046RE5HW/

  3. Why Didn’t They Ask Evans? is a non-series titles that is one of my favorite Agatha Christie books. (Actually, several of her non-series books are among my favorites of all her books…)

I especially like the interplay between Bobby and Frankie as they figure out what’s going on, while dealing with various mildly disapproving parental figures. It kind of reminds me of some of Heinlein’s “juveniles”, which are still great fun for adults to read too. In any case, Evans has dropped to £0.99 at Kindle UK as part of today’s Daily Deal.

  4. Two Agatha Christie titles have dropped to $1.99 in the US.

Also note that The Murder of Roger Ackroyd (Hercule Poirot #4) entered the public domain in the US on Jan 1 of this year (pubbed in 1926, see CrimeReads article here), so you can now find it at some public domain sites, like Internet Archive, although some, like Project Gutenberg, don’t seem to have any version uploaded yet.

  5. Two Agatha Christie books are on sale for $1.99 today as part of the US Kindle Daily Deal, matched at Kobo US: Nemesis (Miss Marple) and Peril at End House (Hercule Poirot). Nemesis is one of my favorite Miss Marple books, and I even like the BBC TV/movie version (with Joan Hickson), which is kind of unusual for me. It’s a sort of follow-on from the earlier A Caribbean Mystery, with some of the same characters.

  6. 4.50 from Paddington (or as we’d do it in the US, 4:50 from Paddington) is the eighth Miss Marple mystery, and one of my favorites. It’s £0.99 right now at Kindle UK: https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0046RE5EU

Oh yeah, and it’s also been published under two totally different titles: What Mrs. McGillicuddy Saw! and Murder She Said

  7. The Mystery of the Blue Train is $1.99 right now as part of the US Kindle Daily Deal, and matched at Kobo US. A bunch of Christie titles have been popping up on sale in the US recently, usually as part of the Daily Deal, and usually matched at Kobo US. I try to post, but life can (does) intervene, so if you have a particular title you’re interested in, you might keep an eye on the Daily Deal yourself for a while 😊

  8. Eight Miss Marple books by Agatha Christie are $2.99 each as part of today’s Daily Deal in the US, and price matched at Kobo.

    Titles include:
    4:50 from Paddington
The Mirror Crack’d from Side to Side
    A Caribbean Mystery
    At Bertram’s Hotel
    Nemesis
Miss Marple: The Complete Short Stories
    Marple: Twelve New Mysteries
    – this one is sort of a tribute, where various authors have written new Miss Marple stories – not by Christie herself

Here are slightly messy links to the sale books…

    Kindle US: http://www.amazon.com/gp/search/?search-alias=digital-text&field-author=agatha+christie&price=299-299&sort=price-asc-rank&keyword=marple
    Kobo US: https://www.kobo.com/us/en/series/miss-marple-mysteries-1?pageNumber=1&fcminprice=2.99&fcmaxprice=2.99&sort=PriceAsc

  9. A bunch of Agatha Christie books are on sale for $1.99 each at Kindle US, as part of today’s “pre-Prime day” deal. These appear to all be William Morrow reissues, so here’s a link for the seventeen of them: http://www.amazon.com/gp/search/?search-alias=digital-text&field-author=agatha+christie&price=199-199&sort=price-asc-rank&field-publisher=william+morrow+paperbacks

I was completely unable to create a functioning link for Kobo – does anyone know how to add a publisher to a Kobo search URL? Sadly, since some of Christie’s early books have become public domain in the US, there are tons of versions of the ones that are PD that mess up the search results, and I’m having trouble adding the publisher to the Kobo search. And I’m slammed at work (again) today, so don’t have time to play with it any more. But, if you see a book for $1.99 using the Kindle link, there’s a really good chance it will also be $1.99 at Kobo – I spot checked four, and they all were on sale at Kobo US too.

  10. The Mysterious Press/Open Road version of Agatha Christie’s The Man in the Brown Suit, which is one of my favorites of hers, is $1.99 right now at Kindle US, as part of today’s Daily Deal. Keep in mind, though, that it’s also public domain in the US (although not in Canada yet), and a free downloadable version can be found at Project Gutenberg. But if you want the easier access of a Kindle version for this, the Mysterious Press/Open Road version should be reasonably professional, and it’s on sale…

    Kindle US: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B085RST23K

P.S. If you’re not in the US, please verify that it’s public domain wherever you live – or are visiting – before downloading!
