I’ve read and liked Roger Crowley’s history of Venice (City of Fortune: How Venice Ruled the Seas), but haven’t read his book about the fall of Constantinople, 1453: The Holy War for Constantinople and the Clash of Islam and the West. Still, I would imagine it’s pretty good, and it has dropped to $1.99 at Kindle US, so I’ll probably add it to my TBR pile…
