Josephine Tey’s The Franchise Affair is £0.99 right now at Kindle UK. I found my way to Tey’s writing via her Ricardian mystery, The Daughter of Time, which I loved. But I then really enjoyed working my way through her other books, including this non-series title, which is kind of a classic. I just wish she had published more books!
Keep in mind that this is also available for free from Faded Page, Project Gutenberg Canada, and probably some other PD websites too, if you are lucky enough to be in one of the countries where copyright laws put it already in the public domain.

The Man in the Queue, apa Killer in the Crowd, is the first in Tey’s Alan Grant series, and is another one of Tey’s super-enjoyable books, IMO. It’s £0.99 at Kindle UK right now, and unless (as in the OP above) you live in a country, such as Canada, where this is public domain, that’s a great price!
