Whip Hand is the second of Dick Francis’s Sid Halley titles. Per SYKM, it won both the 1979 Gold Dagger award and the 1981 Edgar award for Best Mystery. It’s on sale right now for £0.99 at Kindle UK.
Another Dick Francis price drop in the UK today. This time, it’s Trial Run, which is a non-series titles. (As are most of Francis’ books…) Per SYKM, Trial Run was a finalist for the 1978 Gold Dagger award.

Dead Cert by Dick Francis is £0.99 at Kindle UK today. This is probably part of the new Kindle UK monthly sale for November, but I’d still grab it now if you want it.

I also noticed that Whip Hand is back down to £0.99, so if you missed it a couple of months ago, here’s your second chance. The link in the OP is still good.
Bonecrack is another of Dick Francis’ non-series titles. (Unlike many other mystery/thriller authors, he wrote a LOT more non-series books than series books…) It’s $1.99 right now in the US. And it’s discountable at Kobo US.
Driving Force is one of Dick Francis’ many non-series titles, this one from the early 1990s. It’s on sale right now at Kindle UK for £0.99. I’ve always liked the oddly enjoyable insights that one gets from many of Francis’ books into various industries that are adjacent to horse racing. (And some that are not so closely related, e.g. Proof…) In Driving Force, the adjacent industry is the business of moving often-insanely-valuable horses around the UK and Europe, and I remember this one quite fondly.
10-Lb Penalty is a non-series title by Dick Francis. In addition to being a fun book to read, I learned quite a bit about how the UK election and parliamentary systems work from 10-Lb Penalty – some elements of which are pretty different than what I’m used to in the US. Which is part of what makes Dick Francis books fun – he used so many different backgrounds (clearly well-researched) that you’re always painlessly learning some little snipppet of info – about how horse transportation works in Europe, or about the wine industry, or banking, or even writing self-help guides…
